Application Guide for International Chinese Language Teachers(Confucius Institute) Scholarship 2020
为培养合格的海外中文教师，促进各国中文教育的发展，孔子学院总部继续设立国际中文教师奖学金（孔子学院奖学金），孔子学院、独立设置的孔子课堂、部分汉语考试考点、外国高校汉语师范/中文院系、国外有关中文教学行业组织、中国驻外使（领）馆等（以下简称推荐机构）可推荐优秀学生和在职中文教师到广西师范大学学习和进修汉语国际教育及相关专业。
For the purpose of cultivating qualified International Chinese language teachers and facilitating Chinese language education in other countries, the Confucius Institute Headquarters (CIH) continues with the International Chinese Language Teachers (Confucius Institute) Scholarship. Confucius Institutes, independently operated Confucius Classrooms, HSK test centers, Chinese language (education) departments of foreign universities, professional associations for Chinese language instruction of other countries, Chinese embassies (consulates) abroad (collectively “recommending institutions”) may recommend outstanding students and currently-employed Chinese language teachers to study International Chinese Language Education or related majors in Guangxi Normal University.
一、资助对象
1. 非中国籍人士;
2. 身心健康，品学兼优;
3. 有志于从事中文教育、教学及相关工作;
4. 年龄为 16-35 周岁（统一以2020年9 月1日计）。在职中文教师放宽至 45 周岁，本科奖学金申请者一般不超过25周岁。
Eligibility
All applicants shall be:
1. non-Chinese citizens;
2. in good physical and mental conditions, and with good academic performance and conduct;
3. committed to the Chinese language education and related area;
4. between the ages of 16 and 35 (by September 1st, 2020). Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers shall not be over 45, while undergraduate student applicants shall not be over 25.
二、奖学金类别及申请条件
1. 汉语国际教育专业硕士研究生
2020 年 9 月入学，资助期限为 2 年。
具有大学本科学历。汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（五级）210 分、HSKK（中级）60 分。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议或相关证明者优先。
2．汉语国际教育专业本科生
2020 年 9 月入学，资助期限为 4 年。
具有高中学历。汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（四级）210 分、HSKK（中级）60 分。
3．一学年研修生
2020 年 9 月入学，资助期限为 11 个月。
不录取在华留学生。
3.1 汉语国际教育：汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）270 分，具有 HSKK 成绩；
3.2 汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学：汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（四级）180 分、HSKK（中级）60 分；
3.3 汉语研修方向：汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）210 分，提供 HSKK 成绩者优先。
4. 一学期研修生
2020 年 9 月、2021 年 3 月入学，资助期限为 5 个月。不录取护照上有 X1、X2 签证者。
汉语国际教育、汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学：汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）180 分，具有 HSKK 成绩；
5. 总部与广西师范大学合作奖学金
孔子学院总部与广西师范大学合作设立“广西师范大学孔子学院奖学金”。2020 年 9 月入学。
5.1 一学年汉语研修：资助人数20人，资助期限为 11 个月。不录取在华留学生。汉语研修方向，汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（三级）210 分，提供 HSKK 成绩者优先。
5.2 汉语国际教育本科：资助人数10人，资助期限为 4 年。具有高中学历。汉语考试成绩达到 HSK（四级）210 分、HSKK（中级）60 分。
Scholarship Types and Qualifications
1. Scholarship for Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages
The program commences in September 2020 and provides scholarship for a maximum of two academic years.
Applicants shall hold a Bachelor’s degree,and have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 5) as well as 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level). Priority will be given to applicants who may provide a work contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China or a proof to the same effect.
2. Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages
The program commences in September 2020 and provides scholarship for a maximum of four academic years.
Applicants shall hold a senior high school diploma and a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 4) as well as 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
3. Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study
The program commences in September 2020, and provides scholarship for a maximum of eleven months. International students currently studying in China are not eligible.
① Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 270 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required.
② Chinese Language and Literature,Chinese History,Chinese Philosophy, etc.
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
③ Chinese Language Study
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3). Priority will be given to applicants who provide an HSKK test score.
4. Scholarship for One-Semester Study
The program commences either in September 2020 or March 2021, and provides scholarship of a maximum of five months. Applicants holding the X1 or X2 visa are not eligible.
Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History, Chinese Philosophy, etc.
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required.
5. Cooperative Scholarships between Hanban and GXNU
CIH has established a scholarship in cooperation with GXNU. Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study and Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages shall be enrolled by GXNU according to the standards stipulated in this Guide.
① Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study
The program commences in September 2020, and provides scholarship for a maximum of 11 months of Chinese Language Study, Applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3).
Quota of Scholarship:20.
② Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages
The program commences in September 2020 and provides scholarship for a maximum of four academic years.
Applicants shall hold a high school diploma and a minimum score of 210 on the HSK Test (Level 4) as well as 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
Quota of Scholarship:10.
三、办理流程
2020 年 3 月 1 日起，申请者可登录国际中文教师奖学金（孔子学院奖学金）报名网站（cis.chinese.cn）申请奖学金。
登录奖学金网站，查询推荐机构与接收院校；在线提交申请材料，关注申请进程、审核意见与奖学金评审结果；奖学金获得者与广西师范大学确认办理来华留学手续，在线打印获奖证书；按广西师范大学录取通知书规定的时间入学报到。
截止日期（以北京时间为准）：
1．5 月 10 日（2020年9月入学）；
2．11 月 10 日（2021年3月入学）。
孔子学院总部集中评审，择优录取，于入学前约 3 个月完成奖学金评审工作，公布评审结果。

Application Procedures
Online registration will be available from March 1st, 2020 on the International Chinese Language Teachers (Confucius Institute) Scholarship application website (cis.chinese.cn). Please log into the scholarship website to check the recommendation institutions and receiving institutions; submit the application materials online, pay attention to the application process, review opinions and scholarship review results. Scholarship holders need to confirm the procedures of studying in China with GXNU, print out the scholarship certificate online, and register at GXNU on the designated date as specified in the admission letter.
The application deadlines (Beijing Time) are:
1. May 20th (for programs commencing in September 2020);
2. November 20th (for programs commencing in March 2021).
CIH will entrust an expert panel to review the applications. The results will be published about three months before school starts.

在各类汉语桥比赛中获得 2020 年度“孔子学院奖学金证书”者，登录国际中文教师奖学金（孔子学院奖学金）网站，凭奖学金证书向广西师范大学提交申请材料。

Chinese Bridge Award Recipient Policies
Chinese Bridge winners who have been awarded the 2020 Confucius Institute Scholarship Certificate shall log onto the International Chinese Language Teachers (Confucius Institute) Scholarship website and submit documents to GXNU upon presentation of their scholarship certificates. 五、资助内容及标准
孔子学院奖学金资助内容包括：学费、住宿费、生活费（四周研修生除外）和综合医疗保险费。
学费、住宿费和保险费由广西师范大学统筹使用，按相关规定执行。生活费由广西师范大学按月发放。本科生、一学年和一学期研修生标准为2500元人民币/月；汉语国际教育专业硕士生为3000元人民币/月。
Scholarship Coverage and Criteria
The Confucius Institute Scholarship provides full coverage on tuition fee, accommodation fee, living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance expenses.
Tuition, accommodation fee and comprehensive medical insurance expenses are under the overall planning and utilization of GXNU in accordance with relevant regulations of studying in China.
Living allowance is granted by host institutions on a monthly basis. The monthly allowance for undergraduates, one-academic-year study students and one-semester students is 2,500 CNY per person. For Master’s Degree student, the monthly allowance is 3,000 CNY per person.
六、申请提交材料清单
（一）与所有申请者有关的证明材料
1．护照照片页扫描件。
2．HSK、HSKK 成绩报告（有效期两年）扫描件。
3．推荐机构负责人的推荐信。
（二）与学历生有关的证明材料
4．提供最高学历证明（毕业预期证明）和在校学习成绩单。
5．汉语国际教育专业硕士须提供两名副教授以上职称导师的推荐信。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议者优先资助。
（三）在职中文教师须附上就职机构出具的在职证明和推荐信。
（四）未满 18 周岁的申请者，须提交在华监护人署名的委托证明文件。
以上申请材料请通过“孔子学院奖学金”（cis.chinese.cn）在线提交，无需另外寄送纸质版材料。
Application Materials
1. For all applicants:
① A scanned copy of passport photo page;
② A scanned copy of score reports of the HSK and HSKK tests (within the two-year validity);
③ A reference letter by the head of the recommending institutions.
2. For degree scholarship program applicants:
① A certification of the highest education diploma (or proof of expected graduation) and an official academic transcript;
② Applicants of the Scholarship for MTCSOL students are required to provide 2 reference letters from professors or associate professors. Priority will be given to applicants who may provide a work contract with a teaching institution upon completing their studies in China or a proof to the same effect.
3. Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers shall provide proof of employment as well as a reference letter by the employer.
4. Applicants under the age of 18 shall provide certified documents of designation signed by their entrusted legal guardians in China.
All the application documents must be submitted on the website‘cis.chinese.cn'. It is not necessary to post the hard copies.
七、入学时间及奖学金年度评审
1. 奖学金获得者须根据广西师范大学规定按时到校报到。无故逾期未报到者，奖学金资格不予保留。入学体检不合格者，奖学金资格将被取消。
2. 所有孔奖生须参加年度评审，学习成绩和汉语水平测试达到优秀者可在第二学年继续享受全额奖学金，达到良好者获得部分奖学金，其余停发奖学金。
Annual Review
1. Scholarship holders shall register on time according to the regulations of Guangxi Normal University. Scholarship eligibility will not be reserved for those who fail to register for any reason. Scholarship eligibility will be canceled for those who fail the admission medical examination.
2. All the scholarship holders shall accept the annual assessment under the Annual Appraisal Procedures of Confucius Institute Scholarship. Those with outstanding academic and HSK/HSKK results will continue to be granted with full scholarship; others will only be entitled to partial or even be deprived of the scholarship, based on the appraisal results.
